Pewter, Lime & Butter: Tabletop Inspiration

A palette of pewter, lime green and butter yellow is our color scheme for this weeks Tabletop Inspiration.  Design #4 from the Chambers Bay Wedding Showcase (held this past spring at Chambers Bay Golf Course) is an elevated design in our fabulous glass clarinet vase.  Photo credit goes to Wallflower Photography who was on site to capture the day and our designs.

Champagne, Antique Pink & Apricot: Tabletop Inspiration

For week #3 of our Tabletop Inspiration series we are sharing a champagne, antique pink and apricot design from the Chambers Bay Wedding Showcase held at Chambers Bay Golf Course this past spring.  Wallflower Photography captured some beautiful shots of our designs.  Many thanks to them for the images below!

Design #3

The Colors:
Champagne, Antique Pink and Apricot with a hint of deep brown and green.

The Flowers:
Apricot ranunculus, ivory garden roses, antique pink roses, chocolate scented geranium leaves and deep brown manzanita branches.

We started with a champagne base linen and then layered together manzanita branches.  Small arrangements of apricot ranunculus, ivory garden roses and antique pink roses and tucked into the manzanita.  A few candles and the look glows.  We also added khaki colored napkins.

Purple, Lavender & Bling: Tabletop Inspiration

This past spring we took part in the Chambers Bay Wedding Showcase at Chambers Bay Golf Course.  For the showcase we created 5 different table designs.  We will share one design a week for the next 5 weeks and on the 6th week we will share the bouquets we created for the event.  Many thanks to Wallflower Photography for the beautiful images we will be sharing with you.

Design #1

The Colors:
Dark purple, lavender, silver and sparkle!

The Flowers:
Cool water roses, purple lisianthus, purple stock, agonis and silver manzanita branches

We worked with a base linen of deep purple and brought in accents of lavender for the napkins and chair ties.  The main part of the centerpiece is a glass vase with gems, a bling band and silver manzanita branches with hanging crystals.  We also attached single blooms of stock to the branches.  Around the focal piece were 3 glass cubes banded in lavender ribbon and bling band.  An arrangement of purple stock, cool water roses, purple lisianthus and agonis is in each cube.

We also wrapped bling band around slim glass cylinders filled with clear gems and then topped it with a floating candle.  These candles would be perfect on a cocktail table.

All linens provided by American Party Place.

Purple & Lavender Wedding: Wine & Roses Country Estate

I originally posted the photos I took from Lisa & Adam’s wedding back in August but I recently received photos from Gabriel at Van Wyhe Photography and had to share them.  It was so fun to work with Lisa on her wedding to Adam.  I love seeing their personality come through in the photos and seeing how they personalized their day.  Check out our original post here and enjoy the photos below.

I absolutely love Lisa & Adam’s entrance into their reception!  As baseball fans, their wedding party created an arch or baseball bats for them to enter through!

Community Involvement: Harmony’s Experience

I wrote a post back in February about becoming the mentor for one of the local high school seniors for her senior project.  You can read the post here:
Community Involvement…Meet Harmony!
We had 10 weeks together where she assisted us at expos and wedding shows, organized inventory, learned how to make boutonnieres and prep flowers for wedding designing.  I asked her to write about her experience for the blog.  So, without further delay…here are Harmony’s reflections about working with Jen’s Blossoms!

The Lily Girl
Hello!  Many of you may not know who I am so I’ll give you a hint…I’m the girl with the lilies.  Back in February the lovely Jenifer posted a picture of me with my arms full of beautiful calla lilies.  My name is Harmony Casey and I am the calla lilies #1 fan.  I am also a running start student in my senior year of high school.  Most importantly, I’m Jen’s intern.  For the past three months I have had the privilege of learning from Jen and experiencing the wonderland that is the floral industry.  It really has been an
Alice in Wonderland experience.

Three months ago I had no idea what to do with my life in this boring world of economics, politics, responsibility and work.  That’s when I discovered Jen.  Suddenly my mere interest and amateur skill with flowers morphed into a whole new world full of color, excitement, dreams, light and endless possibilities.  I learned that being a floral designer is a job with difficulties as well as intense rewards and joy.  I learned how to strip flowers, how to design and make boutonnieres and how to handle different events.  Most frustratingly, I learned how to use floral tape.
It was out to get me but I showed it who was who.

While I learned a lot and discovered my dream of owning a flower shop someday, the best part of this experience was the beauty.  The flowers, the colors, the dynamic designs, the environment and most importantly, the people were all beautiful beyond imagination.  Every person I encountered in this industry was welcoming and happy to be where they were.  None of this would have been possible without Jen.  She has been an amazing mentor, friend and teacher.  I am so grateful to have been blessed with such a talented and wonderful mentor.  she has taught me to see the underlying undiscovered beauty in flowers and the world.  Like the lily, the world has an exotic but innocent and elegant yet untamed quality.

So that’s me.  The girl with the lilies, one step closer to my dream.
Farewell,
Harmony

Thank you Harmony for your kind words and for bringing a new perspective into our lives for three months.  We at Jen’s Blossoms wish you all the best for the future.  Yours is definitely a bright one!

Gardenia, Rose & Calla Lily Bouquet: Real Wedding

I think one of the coolest things about working with weddings and events is seeing certain design elements evolve over the course of time. With this wedding we started with idea of using purple and ivory flowers with the only set-in-stone element being the picaso mini calla lily boutonnieres (the grooms request). Once we got going with some ideas we added a deep red into the bridal bouquet and centerpieces giving a rich contrast to the floral designs at this summer wedding.

The Venue:
Museum of Glass
Tacoma, Washington

The Photographer:
Alante Photography

The Flowers:
Gardenia, Roses, Garden Roses, Mini Calla Lilies, Lisianthus and Hydrangea

The Bridal Bouquet:
A hand-tied bouquet of deep red roses, dark purple mini calla lilies, white lisianthus, cream garden roses and gorgeous gardenia wrapped with deep purple ribbon.

The Bridesmaid Bouquets:
Bouquets of lavender hydrangea, Picasso mini calla lilies and cream garden roses popped against the background of the bridesmaids dark purple dresses.

The Centerpieces:
Lavender hydrangea, white lisianthus, deep red roses, cream roses and freesia arranged in it leaf lined glass cubes sat on all the tables.

Aqua, Coral & Orange: Union Station Tacoma

We participated in a wedding design event this past February.  Our job was to design a wedding for Union Station in downtown Tacoma.

The Colors:
Aqua, Charcoal, Corals & Oranges

The Vendors:
A Greater Plan, Jonz Catering, Wallflower Photography, A Tier Above, Bellezza Jewelry, Flourish by Lillie, Remarkable Production, Sensebellum, Sandpaper, AA Party Rental & Trendy Event Rentals

Many thanks to Wallflower Photography for taking some incredible photos!
All photos below by Wallflower Photography.

For the ceremony site (shown above) we created large crêpe paper roses and lily like flowers.  Large vases filled with coral colored curly willow and paper roses anchor each side of the altar while a display of paper roses and lilies hangs suspended in front of a gray backdrop.  White paper flowers line the aisle as well.

Our sign in table/guest book (above) luggage tags and vintage suitcases .  Guests filled out the small luggage tags and then placed them in the suitcases.  A nod to the fact that Union Station was at one time an operating train station.

Tina at Sandpaper created the stationery suite (below).  I love that the circular graphic gives reference to the dome of this incredible building.

Our large main table (above) had two large curly willow and paper flower arrangements along with arrangements of white hydrangea and freesia in rectangular vases and white pots of orange ranunculus all sitting atop a mirrored runner.  Beaded chargers, white plates and aqua linens completed the look.

The other tables were round and had arrangements of wither white hydrangea with orange tulips or arrangements of orange roses with coral valotta and garden roses.

Shelley at A Tier Above created the gorgeous cake above.  We also created a lounge area on the balcony the overlooks the main floor.  For added fun we had
“Wedding Reception Bingo” cards with glass marking beads set up in the lounge area!

Many thanks to my team and the other vendors that helped make this happen!
