Purple Tulips: An April Wedding

Spring in the Pacific Northwest was the perfect season for this wedding!  During the month of April the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival takes place just to the north of us.  Tulips were an excellent choice for this afternoon wedding at the gorgeous Annie Wright School.

The brides bouquet (above) consisted of purple tulips, white waxflower and ruscus.  I wrapped the stems with satin ribbon and accented the handle with pearls.

The bridesmaid bouquet (above) consisted of purple and white tulips with white waxflower and ruscus.  The stems on this bouquet were also wrapped with satin ribbon.

Lining the aisle I used trailing smilax with white hydrangea, purple tulips and purple satin ribbon (above).  A single candelabra rose above the pews.

I flipped open a few tulips (below) for the cake decoration.  There was also dark purple lisianthus for the cake flowers.

Many congratulations to Anne & Doug!

Purple, Turquoise & Olive: An Arabian Nights Party

When Gina at A Greater Plan Weddings & Events contacted me about creating the floral centerpieces for an Arabian Nights themed 50th birthday party I immediately loved her vision for the event.  She sent over sketches of the tent and floral ideas with a description that read “like magic from a genie bottle”.

I kept the bulk of the flowers clustered at the top of the turquoise glass vases but added whimsical curls of purple wire to create a bit of height.

A close up of the centerpiece (above).  Turquoise vase with purple agapanthus, purple sweet peas, lily grass and purple curled wire.

The tent (below) sat on the lawn overlooking the gorgeous Puget Sound.  Gina hung swags of sheer fabric and a chandelier from Rented Elegance.  There were hand-painted carpets, signature cocktails and luminaries lining the drive.  Great job Gina!

Peony, Gerbera Daisy & Hydrangea Bouquet

I had the privilege of creating a bridal bouquet for an intimate wedding at one of our local parks a few weeks ago.  The bouquet was hand-tied and consisted of white peonies, white hydrangea, white lisianthus and the brides favorite, white gerbera daisies.

The inspiration for the ribbon wrap came from the grooms kilt.  I used a muted green satin ribbon as a base and crossed royal blue satin over the top.  The perfect finishing touch for this all white bouquet.

Eggplant, Lavender & Mint Tabletop

Our 5th tabletop design for the Chambers Bay Wedding Showcase played with the color palette of eggplant, lavender and mint.  American Party Place supplied the eggplant pintuck linen, lavender and mint chair ties and napkins as well as the place settings.  We created a centerpiece of manzanita branches in a glass cube of moss.  Hanging from the branches were teardrop crystals and mini pomanders of purple and lavender stock (which has an amazing fragrance).  To complete the look we potted small succulents with moss in mini glass cubes and added a few votive candles.

Pale Pink, Gold & Ivory Tabletop

For look #4 of the Chambers Bay Wedding Showcase it was all about simple romance.  The trio of glass cylinders contained submerged white dendrobium orchids and floating candles.  Pale pink rose petals and votive candles surrounded the trio.  Ivory linens and gold chargers from American Party Place completed the look.

I will reveal the final look next week!
