I feel spring fast approaching here in the Pacific Northwest. I am looking forward to warmth and wedding season. This weekend I want to share a wedding from last summer. It is bright! The day was gorgeous!
The design scheme…New Orleans meets the Pacific Northwest!

The Flowers:
Stargazer lilies, yellow mini calla lilies, yellow and purple freesia, yellow tulips, fuchsia garden roses, stephanotis, orange spray roses, lime green hydrangea, purple irises, fuchsia roses, dahlias, purple lisianthus, variegated pittosporum and bupleurum.
The Bridal Bouquet & Boutonnieres:
A vibrant hand-tied bouquet of stargazer lilies, purple freesia, yellow tulips, orange spray roses, stephanotis, fuchsia garden roses and bupleurum was tied with white satin ribbon. The grooms boutonniere was a yellow mini calla lily with variegated greens.
The Ceremony:
We draped the aisle in sheer fabric. Posies of stargazer lilies, purple lisianthus, orange spray roses and yellow mini calla lilies tied with lavender ribbon accented the draping. Fuchsia rose petals completed the aisle design. For the altar we draped a square structure with sheer draping and added larger arrangements to the front poles and finished with fuchsia rose petals.

Bistro Tables & Centerpieces:
Small arrangements of green hydrangea, fuchsia roses, yellow freesia and purple irises in glass cylinder with a birch band decorated the bistro tables during cocktail hour.

We designed 3 different table centerpieces. The first was a glass cube with a birch bark and rustic twine wrap topped with an arrangement of green hydrangea, dahlias, garden roses, lisianthus and bupleurum. The second centerpiece was an arrangement of green hydrangea, dahlias, garden roses, lisianthus and bupleurum in a birch bark vase. The last centerpiece was tall flower tower vases with curly willow and hanging orchids.

The bride ordered feathered masks that were placed at each place setting!

So, what elements were specific to the Pacific Northwest and which ones specific to New Orleans? Rustic birch bark, vine wrapped wire and local dahlias gave a nod to the Northwest while colors including purple, green and yellow/gold were used in each floral arrangement bringing the vibrant feel of New Orleans to the Northwest. We also used the purple iris in some of our arrangements. The iris is known as a Louisiana wildflower and it also mimics the shape of a fleur-de-lis.
I took the following images of additional arrangements and decor we provided. The first collage shows a trio of arrangements we placed in alcoves throughout the space, the bistro arrangements as well as the low arrangements placed on console tables in the club. The second photo is a close up of the mantle decor. We used smilax greens with single flowers, feathered masks and birch wrapped cylinders of floating candles.

It was a joy to work with this couple on their wedding. We wish them years of love, laughter & happiness! Here is one final image from Boston Harbor Photography.
Simply gorgeous!
